Claremont Graduate University Southern California McNair Scholars Research Conference: October 5 – 6, 2012

We are proud to invite you to the 2nd Annual CGU McNair Scholars Research Conference; where we unite McNair Scholars from throughout the U.S. to highlight the skills and scholarly contributions of first-generation Americans. Last year we had the participation of over 15 universities from across the U.S. and this year we hope more will join in as we seek to expand knowledge through creative research!

This year’s theme Dynamic Discourse: Representing Revolutionary Research is a vibrant and all-encompassing theme that will fit the research from scholars of all fields. In addition to seeking creative research, this conference is designed to commemorate the dedication and success of Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Programs in preparing their scholars for a graduate education; thus propelling their respective fields into dynamic discourse.

At this year’s conference McNair Scholars from across the United States will convene and present their research projects to faculty scholars, peers, friends and all those who are an integral part in supporting their academic growth. Scholars will have various opportunities to:

• Network with faculty who are in and outside of their fields
• Network with fellow McNair Scholars from other universities
• Meet with various graduate school representatives from across the United States
• Meet with graduate school representatives from Claremont Graduate University
• Attend an array of educational workshops covering topics such as: 0Graduate School Preparation, Leadership Development and Professional Development
