Council’s Policy Seminar, March 21-23, 2010
Posted by McNair Scholars Program on Thursday, February 4, 2010 22:45 - 0 Comments
The Council’s Policy Seminar affords the TRIO and GEAR UP community the opportunity to help educate Members of the 111th Congress, Congressional staff, and Obama administration officials about the history and the success of TRIO and GEAR UP. More importantly, the Policy Seminar enables participants to represent the interests of low-income, first-generation, and disabled students in the policy arena. Come share your success stories. Real stories about real students can make a real difference!
This seminar is your opportunity to:
- Network with TRIO and GEAR UP colleagues from around the country;
- Learn how to affect funding for your program;
- See the connection between Congress and your students’ success;
- Establish relationships with key Congressional staff; and
- Advocate for first-generation, low-income students – and your programs that make their success possible.
With your help and the help of your alumni, we can build support for TRIO and GEAR UP and expand services to assist more low-income, disadvantaged students.
