McNair Promising Practices Institute – March 2-4, 2017

This March 2-4, 2017 the University of Central Florida’s Academic Advancement Programs will host the 3rd Annual McNair Promising Practices Institute (MPPI) in Orlando, Florida.  The MPPI will provide an interactive forum for McNair staff to learn about the most innovative practices taking place in the McNair community and come together to share knowledge, tools, and insights with colleagues from across the country. The institute will include speakers, poster presentations, and many networking opportunities.

The following topics will be explored:

  • Addressing program objectives
  • Use of technology
  • Connecting with McNair alum
  • GRE preparation
  • Graduate school preparation
  • Program management
  • Involvement of faculty
  • Research experience for scholars
  • Preparing for national fellowships
  • Institutionalizing your McNair Program
  • And much more

The registration fee: $350.00.

Schedule: Workshops will run on Thursday, March 2nd and Friday, March 3rd.  Saturday, March 4th will be focused on creating cultural activities/events for your scholars and will include an optional day long visit to Kennedy Space Center.
